My week in Savoie Mont Blanc region …

A super site, Savoie Mont Blanc has tons of information about everything to do, everything to see, everything about our beautiful region!! Click on this link for the events calendar …

I am lucky enough to go to the second inauguration of La Maison de Savoie in Paris, Tuesday the 27th at 7:30. I know François’s mother really well (he’s co-owner). Finally open after a couple of years in preparation. Everything in the store has a reason to be there. Philibert and François hiked, shopped, tasted and chose each product. These guys have put all of their heart in to this project and I hope long life for this little piece of Savoie in the capital.

If ever in Paris go check them out. Tell everyone about them!!

Then Wednesday evening, I have been invited by Digital Savoie to a networking cocktail at Savoie Technolac with some shakers and makers from Quebec and Germany. Should be interesting.

Today 9/25

6 Savoie Mont Blanc Lions Clubs got together in La Thuile, about 20 minutes above Chambery in the Parc des Bauges, to deforest … déboisée area that will be an important location for climbers young and old. We chopped down a bunch of little brush trees to let in a little light, the moss had taken over all of the vegetation. I felt like I was in New Zealand on a film set for Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. If ever you have never been up to the Lac de THUILE. Check it out. What a pretty place. Hopefully, my phone will come back to life so I can post some photos.

To get there

turn off on the Medipole exit

follow St Jeoire Prieuré (D5),

take the second road off the rond about at Carrfour Market direction Parc des Bauges or Lac de Thuile D21, a super cool road for fast cars and motocycles 10 minutes of turns !

then take a second right upwards D11 towards La Thuile

When you get into the tiny village of Monthoux take a right towards Nécuidet and the climbing area will be on your right about 500 m. Park on your left close to a sign. Don’t go to fast to miss the sign. It seems like a one way road but it isn’t.

Have a great week – keep checking about for daily changes.
